Academics at Bishop Verot
A tradition of excellence.
Bishop Verot Catholic High School has a rich tradition of academic excellence. Our college preparatory curriculum consists of state-required courses for graduation, along with Religious Education and a wide range of electives. Courses are offered at the standard, college prep, honors and Advanced Placement (AP) level. Qualified students may earn college credit through the Advanced Placement testing program. Incoming freshmen may be eligible for placement in the Scholars Academy, which allows students to take the most academically rigorous courses offered at Bishop Verot.
Bishop Verot has a modified block schedule with each class meeting four days a week, including an 83-minute block one day a week. Students must enroll in at least six courses per semester, with a seventh period available to take an additional academic/elective course or study hall. Teachers are available for one hour per day, 30 minutes during Lunch period and 30 minutes during after school tutorial, to provide additional academic support to students.
Special Learning needs are met with services provided by our Learning Services Program. This program provides assistance and support to students with diagnosed learning disabilities.
