Class of 2024 Graduation Information

CAPS AND GOWNS

Seniors will receive their cap and gown for graduation in early May. There is no cost.

GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS

SERVICE HOURS –  March 1

All documented service hours are due by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024. Students must have a total of 30 documented hours for the school year at a pre approved not-for-profit service site. Failure to turn in documented hours by the deadline will result in a Saturday detention for each week until the hours are completed. Students MUST complete the 30 hours in order to graduate.

GRAD BASH –  April 26-27

Grad Bash will be Friday, April 26th. Mr. Negulescu has sent out the sign-up sheet for this event. Students will be leaving Verot on April 26th around noon, and will not be returning until around 6:00 a.m. the next morning (4/27).

PROM - May 4   

The Senior Prom will be held at Sidney Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Ft. Myers from 7:30 - 10:00 p.m. All guests must arrive by 8:00 p.m. - no late admittance will be allowed.

    Failure to adhere to Dress Code will result In not being allowed into the Prom. If you have questions about your attire, please speak with Dr. Mastandrea in advance to avoid any issues on the day of Prom.

This year's Non-Verot Date Form is now available. This form must be completed and returned to Dr. Mastandrea. It is important that you read this PDF in full if you intend to bring someone outside of school as your guest. There is a section in red that needs to be signed by your parent in addition to the section that asks for their phone number at the top. If your intentions are to bring a Bishop Verot sophomore as your date, the Sophomore Prom Date Form is now available. Bishop Verot freshmen cannot attend Prom, so please keep that in mind when asking dates. 

SENIOR AWARDS ASSEMBLY –  May 3

The annual Senior Awards Assembly will be held in the Anderson Theater at 9:00 a.m. Parents are welcome to attend, but must check in to the Main Office upon arrival. 

SENIOR SUNSET –  May 8

This is an event that began last year. It will take place on May 8th and will start at 7:00 p.m. All Verot Seniors are invited to come to the football field that evening to watch the sunset the night before their last full day of high school. Verot will be providing a food truck, music, and games for everyone to enjoy. Freshman Retreat letters will also be distributed during this event. More info on this will be sent out as the event gets closer.

AP EXAMINATIONS – May 6 - 17

Students will not be required to attend any of their regular schedule classes on a day they are taking an AP exam. 

LAST DAY OF CLASSES - May 9 

SENIOR EXAMS - May 10, 13, and 14

Students who have earned a 93 or above for both quarters in a class will be exempt from the Final Exam (This does not apply to AP courses). 

SPELLAMANIA – Wednesday, May 15        

Spellamania will be held in the Nevins Gymnasium at 1:00 p.m. Seniors should plan to arrive by 12:30 p.m. Parents are welcome - please check in to the Main Office upon arrival. 

MANDATORY GRADUATION PRACTICE – Friday, May 17 at 7:45 a.m.

All seniors report to the Cafeteria at 7:45 a.m. for practice. Students must be on time or they will assist Dr. Mastandrea and Mr. Hiller in cleaning up Verot for Graduation. Students who do not attend will not participate in graduation.

ALUMNI ASSOCIATION CORD/STOLE

In an effort to guide your new graduate in the importance of philanthropy and "paying it forward," you may purchase an Alumni Association Cord or Stole for your child to wear at Graduation. BACCALAUREATE MASS – Friday, May 17 at 5:00 p.m.

Mass will be held at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord in Fort Myers. Students must be in the Church of the Resurrection Parish Hall no later than 4:05 p.m., dressed appropriately. Graduates must attend the Baccalaureate Mass in order to participate in graduation.

            Dress Code for Mass and Graduation
            All students wear their Graduation gowns – pressed and ironed. Caps are NOT worn.

            Men: dress shirt, tie, dark slacks, dress shoes (no sneakers); clean-shaven, hair neat, no earrings
            Ladies: knee length skirts or dresses, dress shoes (flats or heels)
            STUDENTS WHO FAIL TO MEET DRESS CODE EXPECTATIONS MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN GRADUATION.

BACCALAUREATE RECEPTION - Friday, May 17 immediately following Mass - RSVP required - form will be sent out when available

We are excited to offer a celebratory reception following the Baccalaureate Mass on Friday, May 17th, hosted by our Junior Class parents. This reception will be held in the Parish Hall at the Church of the Resurrection immediately following the Mass. We hope this will be a nice time for families to share memories while enjoying light appetizers. 

GRADUATION – Saturday, May 18 at 10:00 a.m.

Graduates should park in the back of the gym and arrive in the cafeteria no later than 9:00 a.m. Don't forget your tassels or cords.
