Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance

For families eager to provide their children with an exceptional Catholic education, it is our hope the challenges of the financial commitment can be overcome. There are a number of opportunities for assistance for qualifying families.

  • Step Up for Students Scholarships
    • Florida Tax Credit Scholarship
    • Florida Empowerment Scholarship for Unique Abilities
  • AAA Scholarship
  • FACTS Grant & Aid
  • Catholic Allowance for practicing Catholic families

Bishop Verot is only able to offer need-based assistance. There are no athletic or extra-curricular scholarships awarded.

Except in unique circumstances, transfer students (students currently attending high school at another institution and applying for admission to Bishop Verot for grades 10-11) are not eligible for tuition assistance. Families of these students should meet with the Director of Finance prior to submitting an application.

Florida Tax Credit Scholarship

Bishop Verot is excited to share our participation in the State of Florida's Step Up for Students program, offering families the opportunity to apply the new Florida Tax Credit Scholarship for tuition. Recent legislation signed by Governor DeSantis allows all Florida families access to this scholarship, regardless of household income (the only requirement is proof of residency). While the value of this scholarship may change annually, it currently is valued at close to $7700. Learn more at https://www.stepupforstudents.org/scholarships/

The 2024-2025 application process will begin soon. Please visit StepUpForStudents.org/ftc-fes-eo-interest-2024-2025 to join the pre-registration information list and be notified when the application opens.

Unique Abilities Scholarship (previously the McKay Scholarship)

The Unique Abilities Scholarship replaces the McKay Scholarship and is for students who have a documented learning disability. Beginning this year, if one child in the family qualifies for this scholarship all other children will automatically be awarded this scholarship as well, with the goal of keeping families together for their schooling. The value of this scholarship is over $10,000 per school year. Learn more about this scholarship, qualifications, and the application process at https://www.stepupforstudents.org/scholarships/unique-abilities/

AAA Scholarships can provide up to $7,700 to help cover private school tuition and fees for families who qualify. Please visit aaascholarships.org/ parents/florida for more information on the application and approval process.

*Families are not eligible for both Step Up for Students Scholarships and AAA Scholarships - you may only select one.

Bishop Verot Catholic High School makes use of FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment to help us evaluate requests for financial aid. The application for financial aid should be filled out prior to March 15, 2024 for priority consideration. Families are encouraged to file online at https://online.factsmgt.com/aid. All decisions on Assistance are made by Bishop Verot Catholic High School. FACTS does not supply any funding for assistance.

All applications are evaluated by the Bishop Verot Finance Committee after the March deadline. Families must first provide the Finance Office with their acceptance letter from the Step Up for Students Scholarship to complete their file for evaluation. Financial assistance is awarded in the spring (typically before the Easter break) to qualifying, registered families.

If you would like more information about the company, feel free to visit their website at www.factsmgt.com. FACTS works with nearly 5,000 educational institutions and over a million families each year, helping them achieve their goals. They have been in business since 1986 and specialize in working with schools like ours.

Catholic Allowance

Practicing Catholic families with a genuine need may now apply for the Catholic Allowance. To be eligible for the $2000 Catholic Allowance, families must submit an application through FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment (the link and information is above) and have their parish complete and return the Parish Enrollment Form, verifying their parish status.

Please click here for the Parish Enrollment Form. The top portion is to be completed by the parishioner and submitted to the parish. Parish staff will complete their portion and return the form to the Bishop Verot Finance Office. The Catholic Allowance form must be received by the Finance Office no later than June 14, 2023 to be applied to the 2024-2025 school year tuition.
