Summer Assignments

All students are required to complete summer reading and be prepared for an assessment in the first few days of school. Students registered for AP level courses also may have a summer assignment. Please click here for the summer reading list and summer assignments. 

iBV Class Meetings

On Thursday, August 4th, there will be an informational class meeting for all 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students in the Auditorium. Administration will welcome students to the 2022 - 2023 school year and inform students of changes in the handbook, remind students of policies of conduct, and daily expectations of the student body. Students will also be able to pre-order yearbooks, receive parking permits, replace lost Student IDs, and sign up for a locker if needed. The class meeting schedule is as follows:

                                                Seniors – 9:00-10:30

                                                Juniors – 11:00-12:30

                                                Sophomores – 1:00-2:30                                         

If you need a replacement ID,  please click here to fill out the form before August 1st, so you can receive your new ID at your IBV meeting. A replacement ID costs $15. Please have your payment at the meeting.

School Handbook

The handbook is the binding contract between parents and school, providing an overview of the school’s mission and important policies including attendance, dress code, academics, service requirements, and more. All parents and students are responsible for policies in the handbook, which is reviewed and revised each year. The School Handbook is under the Student tab on this website. The Student - Parent Agreement Form posted in canvas must be signed and submitted through canvas by Wednesday, August 19th. Revisions and points of emphasis will be covered at Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 23rd at 6:30 p.m. in the Anderson Theater.

Bishop Verot Email Accounts

Each student is assigned a Bishop Verot webmail account. New students will receive their account and login information in late July. Students should log in to their webmail accounts immediately and begin getting in the habit of checking on a regular basis. We also advise students to download the Gmail app on to their smart phones. Returning students have continued access to their BV email account. Students will be sent updated information about class assignments, school announcements, dress out days, and more.

Canvas Accounts          

Canvas is a learning management system which revolutionizes the way teachers and students interface. Students are able to receive assignments, submit homework electronically, participate in multi-class forums, and monitor grades. Parents are encouraged to be an observer in your student’s classes in order to monitor homework and grades. Please click here for more information and to create an account.

Student ID Cards

All students must have a student ID card to be worn at all times while on campus. This picture ID is used for identification on campus, access to campus buildings, admission to sporting events, and is also used at Sage Dining, our lunch provider. New students will receive their ID card during their iPad Training Session or at orientation. Returning students must replace a lost card during the iBV class meetings (the cost is $15). Community specific lanyards will be issued during iBV class meetings. 

If you need a replacement ID,  please click here to fill out the form before August 1st, so you can receive your new ID at your iBV meeting. A replacement ID costs $15. Please have your payment at the meeting.

If you lose your ID and need a replacement at any point during the school year, you need to complete this form and a new ID will be printed for you. The Dean's Office must be notified prior to 7:30 a.m. to avoid receiving a detention. 


All incoming freshmen will be assigned a locker. Upper classmen will be offered a locker and lock on a first-come, first-served basis. Please click here for the request form. 

Parking Permits

Parking permits are required for all vehicles parked on Bishop Verot property or in the St. Cecilia lot.

Please click here to fill out the google form to receive your parking pass for the 2022-2023 school year. Please fill this out by August 1st, so we are able to hand them out at your IBV meeting. *should be completed by the student, using their bvhs.org email address. 

Each student is allowed one permit per school year, replacement permits are $5. Failure to display the permit will lead to disciplinary action such as detention, suspension, or a revocation of parking privileges on campus. 

Uniform Polo Shirts

Uniform shirts are only available at Renegades Sportswear at 17051 Jean St., Unit 10, Ft. Myers. Please click here for the store location and hours. As a reminder, the only polo colors permitted are black, white, and gold. Please see the School Handbook for the complete Dress Code.

There will also be a Used Uniform Sale held on July 6 from 8:00 a.m - 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. All items, including uniform shirts, logo sweatshirts, and uniform bottoms are priced at $5. The sale will held on campus in the Main Building (please enter through the front doors).

iPad Training

All incoming freshmen and new transfer students will receive their iPad and training during an iPad Training Session. If you have not yet signed up, please do so as soon as possible.

Carpool Sign-Up

For families interested in carpooling, Bishop Verot assists parents in making carpool arrangements by collecting information prior to the start of school year. All gathered information will then be emailed to interested families in a spreadsheet format to contact one another making their own arrangements. The deadline for information submission is Sunday, July 31st. The spreadsheet will be emailed on Monday, August 1st, for parents to make their own arrangements. Please click here for the Carpool Sign Up Form. 

Participation in Athletics

Students planning on participating in any school athletic program must complete the online Athletic Clearance prior to participating in any pre-season or off-season workouts, summer conditioning, team tryouts, regular season practices, or games. The Athletic Clearance must be renewed/completed each year in order to participate in athletics. Please click here for instructions and the Athletic Clearance link.  

Weekly Informational Eblast

A Weekly Eblast is emailed every Friday at 6:00 p.m. with important information and upcoming events. When necessary, Eblasts may also be sent out during the week. The Eblast is generated through the Verot website and emailed to all registered users on the site. Please be sure to create an account on the website to ensure you are receiving this information. You may also elect to receive announcement notifications via text message or email. Please click here to create an account on the website. 

Sage Dining

All students must have an account set up with Sage Dining – My School Bucks, using their student ID, for debit use in the cafeteria and media center café. There is no cash accepted so please be sure your student’s account is set up and fully funded for the start of school. For complete instructions please click here.  

*For new students - student IDs with the number necessary for setting up My School Bucks will be given out during iPad Training or Orientation.

4.Student ID can be found on student ID under bar code

5.Add funds to Meal Account

6.Set up minimum balance notification to $20.00

7.Meal Accounts must maintain a positive balance at all times in order to purchase food

The 2022 - 2023 Yearbook must be pre-ordered. The cost is $75 when ordered by August 26th. After this, the cost will be $85. Students may purchase their yearbook during the iBV class meetings, orientations, or by sending in a check, attention yearbook, to the main office. Be sure to include your student’s name and grade on the check memo line when ordering.

Senior Yearbook Portraits

All seniors must schedule a portrait session with Mr. Craig Hildebrand of the Shoot Group to be included in the yearbook. Appointments will begin soon, please watch for the scheduling system link in the coming weeks. 

*Please note all seniors pictures must be taken in proper dress code regarding facial hair, earrings, hair style, etc. for the picture to appear in the yearbook. Seniors should also come prepared with a dress outfit to be taken on a white background. Men should be in a shirt and tie  and belted dress pants and ladies in an appropriate dress outfit. 

Viking P.R.I.D.E

The acronym says it all: Parents Recognizing, Inspiring, Developing and Enhancing our school community. Members help to organize events, promote teacher and staff recognition, and support the school through volunteerism. Parents looking for a way to be involved with the school are encouraged to fill out a Viking Pride Volunteer Registration Form

There will be a short meeting on August 4th from 6:00 - 6:30 in the Anderson Theater for interested in parents.

iBV Class Meetings

Date and Time:  Thursday, August 4th (seniors - 9:00, juniors - 11:00, sophomores - 1:00)

Location: Anderson Theater

Description: This is a mandatory event for sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

Students will be informed of handbook changes, receive their lanyards and parking permits (with completed registration found on Canvas), as well as be able to fund their Sage Dining accounts, order yearbooks at the discounted rate, and sign-up for a locker, should they need one.

BV 101: A Guide for Freshmen and Transfer Parents

Date and Time: Thursday, August 4th at 6:30 p.m.  

Location: Anderson Theater (please plan to arrive early, traffic is usually heavy)

Description: Parents are encouraged to join us for a presentation covering everything you need to know about Bishop Verot from iPads to “late starts”. 

Yearbook Sale

Dates and Location: During the iBV Class Meetings and FISH Camp 

Description:  The Bishop Verot yearbook, the Luceat, can be purchased for a discounted $75 prior to the start of school. After school begins, the yearbook will cost $85. (Please send in a check with yearbook, student's name, and grade in the memo line)

Freshman Orientation (FISH Camp)

Date and Time: Friday, August 5th from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Location: Anderson Theater

Description: All freshmen should arrive at school in casual, but appropriate clothing (shorts must be fingertip length). Students can be dropped off in front of the Anderson Theater entrance by 7:45 a.m. Bishop Verot upperclassmen will organize this day to help the newest Vikings in their transition to high school, including campus tours and presentations by school administrators covering various aspects of school life. Students will receive their Student IDs, schedules, locker assignment, and may purchase their yearbook (make check payable to BVHS with yearbook and student name in memo line). Lunch will be provided.

Transfer/International Student Orientation

Date and Time: Friday, August 5th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Location: Cecilia Hughes-Smith Media Center

Description: All transfer students (grades 10-12) and international students should attend this informative orientation. National Honor Society students will host a social and introduce incoming students to Verot traditions, academic schedules, dress code, and other expectations. Students will receive their iPads, Student ID cards, sign-up for a locker (if they would like one), and purchase their yearbook (make check payable to BVHS with yearbook and student name in memo line).

Freshman and Sophomore Parent Social 

Date and Time: Friday, August 12th at 6:00 p.m.

Location: The Edison Restaurant, Ft. Myers

Description: Viking P.R.I.D.E and sophomore class parents host this social, introducing our newest parents to the Bishop Verot family. There is no cost to parents, but a suggested donation of a $25 gift card of your choice is appreciated for future event use. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m. 

Back to School Night

Date and Time: Tuesday, August 23rd at 6:30 p.m.

Location: Anderson Theater  

Description: After a brief introduction in the theater, parents have the opportunity to walk through their student’s daily schedule and meet teachers, complete with bells and announcements over the PA system. This is a great way to experience a typical school day at Bishop Verot. All parents are encouraged to attend as your presence is part of the mutual commitment shared between parents and faculty for the good of all Verot students.
