Four Seniors Named Scholars in the National Hispanic Recognition Program

Seniors Esaan Azizi, Isabella Cossu, David Thompson, and Isabella Rodriguez have been recognized as 2017 - 18 National Hispanic Recognition Program award recipients. They have become Scholars in this program as a result of their outstanding academic accomplishments and by scoring at or above the HNRP qualifying level for their region.

Each year, the NHRP honors about 5,000 of the highest-scoring students from over 250,000 Hispanic/Latino juniors who take the PSAT/NMSQT, which assesses reading, math, and writing skills. In order to be eligible, students must meet certain requirements such as be of at least one-quarter Hispanic/Latino descent, achieve the minimum required PSAT/NMSQT cutoff score, and achieve a cumulative grade point average or 3.0 or higher by the end of their junior year.
