Class of 2018 Graduation Information 






The 2017-2018 yearbook is coming together and looking great. For any parents who have already reserved a senior advertisement and have not submitted any materials, we need them immediately; otherwise, we will not be able to guarantee your ad will be published. Please submit your photos, parent letter, preferences, etc. to Mr. Atkins, or email them to
In addition, if you are unable to remit the total of your advertisement until the payment deadline of Monday, February 12, 2018, please submit a down payment of $25 along with the ad materials, in order to confirm your space. There is still room for additional pages for anyone interested. However, space is limited. Please email Mr. Atkins with any questions at


Graduation announcement orders are being accepted now and will be distributed in March during lunch periods. If you have not yet ordered your announcements, do so as soon as possible to insure on-time delivery. You may order online through the Balfour site at


Seniors will receive their cap and gown for graduation in early May. There is no cost. 

SERVICE HOURS – Wednesday, March 28 *extended 

All documented service hours are due to the Campus Ministry office by the end of 7th period. Students must have a total of 30 documented hours for the school year at a preapproved not-for-profit service site.  Failure to turn in documented hours by Friday, April 27 will result in a Saturday detention for each week until the hours are completed. Students MUST complete the 30 hours in order to graduate. Contact Mr. Bolen in Campus Ministry or Mr. David Nelson if you have any questions.

Students who do not have their hours turned in before Prom will NOT have the opportunity to attend our prom or another school's prom. 

GRAD BASH - Friday, April 13

Seniors will leave Bishop Verot at 2:00 p.m. and return around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 14. Tickets cost $80.00 and bus tickets cost $50.00. Please let Mr. Granieri know if you are or are not attending by Friday, February 9. Permission slips will be available on canvas.

SENIOR SERVICE DAY - Friday, April 20

Seniors will work at assigned service sites in our area during the morning and return to Centennial Park in downtown Ft. Myers for a short prayer service and luncheon. All seniors are required to participate in this day of service. 

PROM - Saturday, April 28th 

The Junior/Senior Prom will be held at Sidney Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Ft. Myers. Tickets will be on sale the week prior to Prom during Flex in the cafeteria. Dress guidelines will be sent out soon. 

LAST DAY OF CLASSES - Thursday, May 10 

SENIOR EXAMS - May 11, 14, and 15

Students who have earned a 93 or above for both quarters in a class will be exempt from the Final Exam (This does not apply to AP courses). 

SPELLMANIA – Wednesday, May 16         

The show begins at 1:00 p.m. in the Nevins Gym – parents are welcome. Dress code is casual but appropriate. Seniors should arrive at 12:30 to get senior seating.

MANDATORY GRADUATION PRACTICE – Friday, May 18, 10:00 a.m.

All seniors report to the Cafeteria at 10:00 a.m. for practice. Students must be on time or they will be issued a work detention following practice. Students who do not attend will not participate in graduation.

BACCALAUREATE MASS – Friday, May 18, 5:00 p.m.

The Mass will be held at St. John XXIII Catholic Church. Seniors should arrive at the St. John XXIII community room no later than 4:15 p.m. Graduates must attend the Baccalaureate Mass in order to participate in graduation.

            Dress Code for Mass

            All students wear their Graduation gowns – pressed and ironed. Caps are NOT worn.

            Men:  dress shirt, tie, dark slacks, dress shoes (no sneakers); clean-shaven, hair neat, no earrings

            Ladies:  knee length skirts or dresses, dress shoes (flats or heels)

GRADUATION – Saturday, May 19

Doors to the Nevins Gym open at 12:00 p.m. Students should report to the cafeteria by 12:15 p.m. for lineup, dress code check, and class photo.
