Class of 2017 Graduation Information 





*Please note the Graduation Ceremony time change to 1:00 p.m. 

Permission Forms are required for seniors to attend Prom, Grad Bash, and Senior Service Day. Please fill out the entire packet and return to Mr. Boyan prior to the first event.

Graduation announcements will be distributed in March during lunch periods. If you have not yet ordered your announcements, do so as soon as possible to insure on-time delivery (the deadline for custom announcements is March 15, 2017). You may order online through the Balfour site at


Seniors will receive their cap and gown for graduation in early May. There is no cost. 

SERVICE HOURS – February 1st 

All documented service hours are due to the Campus Ministry office by the end of 6th period. Students must have a total of 30 documented hours for the school year at a preapproved not-for-profit service site.  Failure to turn in documented hours by the deadline will result in a Saturday detention for each week until the hours are completed. Students MUST complete the 30 hours in order to graduate. Contact Ms. Macke if you have any questions.

*Students who have not met this requirement will not be able to attend Prom. Please submit your required hours documentation as soon as possible. 

SENIOR BREAKFAST - Wednesday, April 5th 

Seniors will gather at Perkins for a breakfast together and then return to school. 

JUNIOR / SENIOR PROM - Saturday, April 8th

The Junior / Senior Prom will be held on Saturday, April 8th at the Sydney and Berne Davis Art Center in downtown Ft. Myers. We are currently looking for parents who are willing to help out with decorating the venue. If you can help out, or if you’d like more information, please email Tickets for the Prom will be on sale the week before the event during Flex.

Prom Dress Code

Non-Verot Student Request form - Must be returned to Main Office by Wednesday, April 5th. 

ACADEMIC AWARDS CEREMONY - Thursday, April 27th, 6:00 p.m.

Students who have achieved Principal’s List 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarter will be honored. Invitations will be sent out in March.

SENIOR AWARDS ASSEMBLY - Friday, April 28th, 1:30 p.m.

GRAD BASH - Saturday, April 29th 

*Payment for this event is due Thursday, March 9th. Seniors who have not turned in their payment will be unable to attend. 

Seniors will spend the night in Universal Studios enjoying the park for Grad Bash. Bus transportation to and from Orlando will be provided. Permission forms are required for this event. Exact times and cost will  be annnounced soon. 

SENIOR SERVICE DAY - Friday, May 5th 

The senior class wil be divided into groups and visit area service sites for a morning of volunteering. They will return to Centennial Park for lunch and a prayer service. 


Seniors ‘sign your shirt’ dress. There will be a special afternoon assembly with important details and reminders for the Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation.  All seniors MUST attend.

SENIOR EXAMS – May 12th, 15th and 16th 

Senior exams are given in the Cafeteria beginning at 7:00 a.m. Schedule below.

SPELLMANIA – Wednesday, May 17th         

The show begins at 1:00 p.m. in the Nevins Gym – parents are welcome. Dress code is casual but appropriate. Seniors should arrive at 12:30 to get senior seating.

MANDATORY GRADUATION PRACTICE – Friday, May 19th, 10:00 a.m.

All seniors report to the Cafeteria at 10:00 a.m. for practice. Students must be on time or they will be issued a work detention following practice. Students who do not attend will not participate in graduation.

BACCALAUREATE MASS – Friday, May 19th, 5:00 p.m.

The Mass will be held at St. John XXIII Catholic Church. Seniors should arrive at the St. John XXIII community room no later than 4:15 p.m. Graduates must attend the Baccalaureate Mass in order to participate in graduation.

            Dress Code for Mass

            All students wear their Graduation gowns – pressed and ironed. Caps are NOT worn.

            Men:  dress shirt, tie, dark slacks, dress shoes (no sneakers); clean-shaven, hair neat, no earrings

            Ladies:  knee length skirts or dresses, dress shoes (flats or heels)

GRADUATION – Saturday, May 20th, 1:00 p.m.

Doors to the Nevins Gym open at 12:00 p.m. Students should report to the cafeteria by 12:15 p.m. for lineup, dress code check, and class photo. Families will receive two (2) reserved floor tickets. Additional seating is available in the bleachers on a first come, first served basis; there is not a limit to the number of guests per family. An online form for wheelchair access seating and handicap parking requests will be available in May.

VALHALLA – PROJECT GRADUATION -  Saturday, May 20th, 11:00 p.m.

This post-graduation event is parent-led and organized for the class to celebrate together. This event is optional and while Bishop Verot relays information regarding the event, it is not a school sponsored event.
